Calenix vs Wave Connect: Which Digital Business Card Platform Is Better for Networking?

Comparing Calenix and Wave Connect plan by plan: free plans, Pro and Individual upgrades, and what changes when you roll digital business cards out to a small team.

If you want a capable free card with a lead capture form, or a low per-user price for rolling cards out to a sales team with CRM sync, Wave Connect is a strong option. If you want your card, your booking page and your team's scheduling to sit in one account, Calenix is the better fit, because it adds booking pages with team scheduling features such as round robin and collective meetings, which Wave Connect does not currently list.

The right answer depends less on features in isolation and more on which plan you would actually buy. This comparison walks through each tier on both sides.

What each tool is built for

Wave Connect is a digital business card platform with a free plan for individuals, a Pro plan for people who want their own branding, and a Teams plan with an admin platform for companies that issue cards to staff. Its paid tiers lean into lead capture at events, including AI-assisted capture and enrichment.

Calenix is a scheduling and professional presence workspace. Digital business cards are one part of it, alongside booking pages, service pages, LinkDock, email signatures and business-card scanning. The card is designed to lead somewhere: usually a booking page where the conversation continues.

A summary based on each vendor's official pages at the time of writing:

Choosing a plan if you network on your own

For an individual, both free plans are genuinely usable. Wave Connect Free gives you a card, a personal email signature and a lead capture form, so people you meet can send their details back to you. That is a generous starting point.

Calenix Free gives you a card, a LinkDock page, an email signature and a live booking page with unlimited 1-to-1 bookings and basic reminders. If your aim is a follow-up call rather than a contact record, that booking page does a lot of the work. Our guide to adding a booking link to a digital business card explains why that matters.

The step up differs too. Wave Connect Pro, at US$7 a month billed annually, is about branding and richer lead capture: branded QR codes, custom fonts and layout, and credit-based AI capture and enrichment. Calenix Individual, at A$12 a month billed annually, adds custom branding but also paid bookings, more event types, three digital cards, 100 card scans a month and contact notes, tags and export.

Rolling cards out to a small team

Team rollout is where the two products feel most different. Wave Connect Teams costs US$5 per user per month billed annually, with a minimum of three users. Admins manage users from one platform, edit profiles in bulk, apply templates and lock fields so staff cannot change approved details. New contacts can sync to the CRM and be tagged by event automatically.

Calenix Professionals starts at A$29 a month billed annually, with usage configured to your team. It gives each team member a digital card and a managed email signature, and adds what Wave Connect does not currently list: shared availability, round robin and collective meetings, so a prospect can book whichever colleague is free.

Say a hypothetical five-person accounting practice in Adelaide wants consistent cards for partners and staff. If the brief ends at branded cards and CRM records, Wave Connect Teams is a tidy, inexpensive fit. If the practice also wants new enquiries to book a discovery call with the next available accountant, Calenix covers both jobs in one place. Our article on scheduling software for sales teams goes deeper on routing.

A rollout checklist for either platform

  • Agree on the fields every card must show, and which ones staff can edit.
  • Decide where new contacts should end up: a CRM, a spreadsheet export or the platform's own contact list.
  • Pick the single next step you want a new contact to take, such as booking a call or visiting your website.
  • Test the card on both iPhone and Android before launch, including saving the contact.
  • Review results after the first event or month and adjust the call to action.

Calenix or Wave Connect: which should you choose?

Where Wave Connect is the stronger choice

Wave Connect is the better pick if your priority is cards and lead capture for a sales or events team. Its Teams plan has a low per-user price, content locking for brand control, event tagging and a broad list of named CRM connections. Its free plan also includes a lead capture form, and Enterprise customers get SOC 2 Type II alongside SSO and SCIM.

Where Calenix is the stronger choice

Calenix suits individuals and small teams who want the card to lead straight to a booked meeting. Booking pages, team scheduling, paper card scanning, LinkDock and email signatures come in the same account, with a free plan that includes unlimited 1-to-1 bookings and basic reminders. As a newer platform, Calenix does not currently list NFC cards or wallet passes, so check whether those matter for your team before you switch.
