Calenix vs V1CE: Which Digital Business Card Solution Is Better for Modern Professionals?
V1CE pairs premium NFC cards with software that costs $0 a month after purchase. Calenix starts free with no hardware and bundles booking, LinkDock and signatures. We compare costs, booking and fit.
V1CE is a good choice if you want a premium physical NFC card that you pay for once, backed by software that includes contact capture, a built-in CRM and native booking at no monthly cost. Calenix is the better choice if you would rather start without buying hardware and want booking, service pages, LinkDock, email signatures and card scanning in one subscription-based workspace with a free entry point.
Both now let a new contact book time with you directly, which makes this a closer comparison than most digital card match-ups.
What each tool is built for
V1CE is run by V1CE Ltd, registered in England and Wales, with offices in the UK, the US and the UAE. It sells physical smart cards in finishes such as bamboo and metal, and pairs them with software it describes as "Paid once. Then $0 a month, for life." That software includes two-way contact capture, a built-in CRM and booking that reads your Google or Outlook calendar.
Calenix is a browser-based workspace for professionals and teams. It covers scheduling, booking and service pages, digital business cards, LinkDock, email signatures and AI business-card scanning. There is no hardware to buy: cards are shared by link, QR code or your device's share sheet.

Two ways of paying for the same outcome
The biggest difference is the cost model. With V1CE you buy a card up front, and the core software then costs nothing per month. On V1CE's US-dollar pricing at the time of writing, The Original starts from $82, The Bamboo is $114 and The Metal is $151, each as a one-off payment. V1CE displays prices based on your location, so Australian and UK buyers should check the figure shown for their region.
With Calenix you pay nothing to start, and move to a monthly or annual plan when you need more. The Individual plan costs A$12 a month billed annually, or A$15 month to month. There is no card to lose, replace or reorder if your job title changes.
Neither model is automatically cheaper. A hypothetical Brisbane consultant who keeps the same card for years and never needs extras may spend less over time with V1CE. A consultant who mainly shares links over email and LinkedIn, and wants landing pages and email signatures too, may get more from Calenix without buying hardware at all.
Booking and follow-up compared
V1CE deserves credit here: its feature page promotes "Built-in booking. No Calendly." You connect a Google or Outlook calendar and V1CE reads your availability, so a contact can book from your profile without a separate tool.
Calenix approaches booking as its core product. You can set multiple event types with their own durations, buffers, locations and booking limits, run date polls for group meetings, take paid bookings and deposits through Stripe from the Individual plan, and send confirmations, reminders and follow-up emails. Time-zone detection helps when clients are in other cities. Our guide on setting up a booking page in 10 minutes shows the setup.
If you only need a single booking link on your card, V1CE may be enough. If booking is central to how you earn, Calenix gives you more control over it.
Selling through your profile
V1CE states a 5% fee on sales on its free software tier. Its optional Client Capture OS, listed at $64.98 a month, removes that fee and adds unlimited AI use and a custom domain. If you plan to sell through your profile, model that fee against your expected revenue.
Calenix does not list its own sales commission on paid bookings; payments run through Stripe, which charges its own processing fees. Check Stripe's current pricing for your country.

Calenix or V1CE: which should you choose?
Where V1CE is the stronger choice
V1CE is the stronger choice if you want a premium tap-to-share card as part of your personal brand, prefer a one-off purchase to a subscription, and value native booking and a built-in CRM without monthly fees. Its team dashboard with Microsoft and Google sign-in is also convenient for companies issuing cards to staff.
Where Calenix is the stronger choice
Calenix is the stronger choice if you want to start free, avoid hardware, and run booking with more depth: multiple event types, paid sessions, reminders, date polls and team round robin. It also bundles LinkDock, a link-in-bio page that V1CE does not list, alongside email signatures, service pages and paper card scanning. Calenix does not currently list physical NFC cards, so if tapping a card matters to you, weigh that up. For more on the format itself, read what a digital business card is and how to use it.
